Prof Michael Frese's articled titled "Why negative affectivity should not be controlled in job stress research: don't throw out the baby with the bath water" has been selected as the top eight most influential article published in Journal of Organisational Behaviour since its inception in 1980. This was co-published Prof Paul E. Spector (University of South Florida), Prof Dieter Zapf (Frankfurt University) and Prof Peter Y. Chen (Colorado State University). 







Bank of Israel has leveraged on our research to help them make strategic management decisions. We are happy that our faculty are contributing to the global community as we continue in our quest to provide management thought leadership.

The article titled "Stanley Fischer reveals:  Who has the Influence behind the Scenes in the Israeli Market" was published in The Marker in June 2009. Stanley Fischer is the Governor of the Bank of Israel. The research that is highlighted in this article is ‘Corporate Governance, Economic Entrenchment and Growth’ authored by Prof Randall Morck, Assoc Prof Daniel Wolfenzon and Prof Bernard Yeung, published in Journal of Economic Literature in September 2005.

The current credit turmoil in the US markets has impacted stock and bond markets globally. Several banks are faced with huge losses on their mortgage and loan portfolios and as a consequence have had to seek additional capital.

Temasek Holdings as well as several other sovereign wealth funds such as Qatar Investment Authority have invested in troubled financial service firms such as Merrill Lynch and Barclays.

One of the important aspects of this crisis is the claim by many banks that their credit portfolios are trading at ‘fire sale’ prices or at steep discounts relative to their true value, which in turn results in their stock prices also being below its fundamental value.

Is this justified? Can assets trade below true value?
